Myrtle Street Studio is the project of a dear and talented friend of mine, Jay Dee Dearness. For the past couple of months I've been working with Jay Dee, designing the studio's brand and related materials. I'm very happy to announce that the studio now has a website on the way, and a live blog!
Myrtle Street Studio will be opening soon in Brisbane, Australia, and will be incorporating a gallery space, studio workspace, specialist bookstore and printstore. The studio will be specifically focused on paper and print based artwork, and aims to provide a gallery space for this emerging arts community. Jay Dee is aiming "To create a space which truly suited the intimate scale of this art while providing the public with an accessible space in which to view and learn more about it".
This weekend, I spent some time with Jay Dee, doing a little photography for the studio. Here is a sneak peak at some of the film I've scanned so far...
The lovely lady herself
As you might be able to tell, I'm rather excited about this project. Myrtle street studio is going to be a beautiful space, full of inspiration and creative energy, and I can't wait to be a part of it.
